Animation In Western & Ashanti Region
Jun 16, 2019Nexans Kabelmetal Ghana Limited in collaboration with the country’s Energy Commission on 10th and 16th July 2019 held two (2) separate animation programs in two (2) of the three (3) key market segments dubbed “Safety in Electrical wiring and installation.”
The program organized by the NKG B & T Sales team was in the form of a lecture presentation, demonstration and a quiz, an innovation over all the previous animation programs held by NKG and competitors alike.
Five (5) circuit demonstration boards for a simple one-bedroom residential facility was prepared with simulated electrical faults which contestants were to identify within 20 minutes using a simple Multimeter as testing equipment. At the end of the stipulated time, the contestant able to identify majority of the faults was adjudged the winner. All contestants were given gifts prizes in accordance with how well they performed in the competition.
In addition to the quiz was a demonstration by the NKG team to the participants to educate them on how a substandard cable is tested by using a simple device pictured below. Two cables (Nexans cable brown and a competitor cable red) were connected horizontally to each other to the device. A current was applied over a specific period to measure change of resistance. The competitor cable increased in temperature and as a result started fuming smoke, an indicator of a low resistance and substandard cable. Participant at the end of the demo pledged to stop using substandard cables in their installation work and promised to patronize Nexans cable.
The main objective of the program was to strengthen Nexans customer loyalty, educate electrical installers on quality as well as deepen the sales team’s effort to penetrate and consolidate our market share (distribution network).
The two (2) separate animations pulled a record attendance of Eight hundred and ninety-five (895) participants.
